Higher national diploma in Computing and Systems Development

This programme will provide you with a range of skills in a technological and management context. It is highly relevant to a range of careers in the IT sector such as information system design and management, IT manufacturing, IT maintenance and technical services areas, e-business strategy and/or technical support, systems analysts, software engineers and developers.

The BTEC Level 6 HND Diploma in Computing and Systems Development can be studied as a stand-alone programme or can form part of a three-year degree programme – University of Wales BSc (Hons) Business Computing. Successful completion of the HND allows direct entry to a one-year top-up to Honours Degree.

Assessment takes the form of written assignments, observations, in-class tests, verbal assessment and projects

To gain the unit learners must achieve, as a minimum, the Pass grade; the Pass grade is in effect the gaining of the credit for the unit, and this contributes to the overall qualification grade. All units must be passes within the rules of combination to achieve the overall qualification.
