National Diploma in Health and Social Care- Level 5(NQAI)

BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care consists of eight mandatory units and some optional units thats combines to give a total of 120 credits. This course is designed to provide you with a specialist work-related qualification, It is perfectly suited to anyone interested in entering nursing or any of the paramedical occupations. It develops the skills, knowledge and understanding required to enable progression to qualifications along the vertical and horizontal planes in the National Qualifications Framework.

 

This course offers candidates the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding that will prepare them for entry into employment at trainee level within a wide range of health, social care and early years care and education environments.

It gives students a broad educational base for employment in the field of health & social care and higher education. The course can help students to progress to further studies, for example a Degree, a Diploma course, Teacher Training or nursing.

Entry Requirement:
  • Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Applicants should have at least 4 pass/GCSEs at Grade C or above (one of which should be English or other relevant qualification).
  • For applicants wishing to pursue a career in Nursing they must have at
    least 5 GCSE Grade C or above.
  • Mature applicants who have worked in a social care setting in the recent past or have a related qualification

    Unit Assessment

Assessment takes the form of written assignments, observations, in-class tests, verbal assessment and projects

To gain the unit learners must achieve, as a minimum, the Pass grade; the Pass grade is in effect the gaining of the credit for the unit, and this contributes to the overall qualification grade. All units must be passes within the rules of combination to achieve the overall qualification.
